3 Powerful Ways to Leverage LinkedIn to Increase Your Revenue

  1. Reach Out to Your Current Market – Most Likely you have hundreds if not thousands of connections you have been ignoring; yet, you are out trying to find new people to engage. Before you prospect for new opportunities, mine the ones you may already have. Here are the steps to begin to build rapport and convert your existing connections to phone calls:
    • Click on Advanced search on LinkedIn (next to the search box)
    • Under Relationship in the middle column click 1st connections
    • Complete the filters on the left hand side with Keywords, Title, Geographic location etc. and Search.
    • You will get a list of all your 1st degree connections that you can begin to engage with. BONUS: in addition to be able to message your connections, you have access to their email from the contact information on their profile.
  2. Client Referrals and Networking Partners – For as long as sales has been a profession, introductions have been coveted. It is every business developer’s dream to have a steady stream of referrals on a consistent basis, but for many it is simply not a reality. That being said, everyone can pro-actively create an environment of referral partners through leveraging the power of LinkedIn. Here is how:
    • Visit your client or networking partner’s profile
    • Click on their 500+ or scroll down to their connections section
    • Click on the magnify glass and paste in your Boolean Search i.e. (CFO OR CEO) AND (Dallas/Fort Worth Area OR Houston OR Austin) Enter
    • Click on Advanced
    • Make a list of the people you might want to meet and share it with you connection asking for an introduction
  3. Develop Advanced and Saved Searches
    • Click on Advanced search on LinkedIn (next to the search box)
    • Under Relationship in the middle column click 1st connections
    • Click on the magnify glass and paste in your Boolean Search i.e. (CFO OR CEO) AND (Dallas/Fort Worth Area OR Houston OR Austin), hit Search and then Save Search (top right hand corner).
    • Click on green hyperlink of shared connections
    • Ask for introductions

These are just a few of the many ways to use LinkedIn to grow your revenue. The key is to get your ideal prospects and referral partners to become 1st degree connections, nurture those relationships by offering value-added content and position yourself as the professional who they will “know, like and trust” so when you ask for a phone call, they are looking forward to talking with you.
